AUTHENTIC WOOL JERSEY HONORING THE 1929 HILLDALE TEAM
History: By 1929, the Eastern Colored League that Ed Bolden had built was gone — collapsed under financial strain. So Bolden did what Bolden did: he started over. He reassembled five of the original ECL franchises and launched a brand-new league, the American Negro League, with Hilldale as the cornerstone. To stock the club, he built the highest-salaried roster in franchise history with four future Hall of Famers on the same team: Oscar Charleston, Martin Dihigo, Biz Mackey, and Judy Johnson. The league lasted one season. The jerseys lasted longer.
Made with authentic wool baseball flannel and felt appliqué lettering, this jersey honors the 1929 Hilldale Giants team, a roster stacked with history-book names.
