History: Between 1953 and 1963, during what came to be known as the “Decade of Change” in baseball, six teams moved to new cities and four brand new ballclubs joined the show.

The Houston Colt .45s played their inaugural season in 1962, marking the first time major league baseball had ever been played in Texas. The classic navy and orange colors have been a part of the club ever since, though only two years later they would be renamed the Astros as Houston became more renowned as the home of the US space program.
