A TRIBUTE TO THE THE BIRMINGHAM BLACK BARONS
History: Led by the incredible talents of star player Satchel Paige, the Birmingham Black Barons won the ‘second half’ pennant in 1927 before losing the Negro National League title to the Chicago American Giants. The team bounced around different leagues before becoming full members of the Negro American League in 1945, and three years later they defeated the Monarchs for the pennant with a 15 year-old Willie Mays in the outfield.
Made with a cotton twill body and satin green underbrim, this ballcap features the red ‘B’ gothic script logo worn by the Barons in 1951.
